Gluten Free Salted S'more Truffles

by - September 18, 2018

One of the things that my family loves to do is go camping. Living in Southern California means that we can pretty much go camping year round and we take advantage of that.  We have the beach and the mountains pretty close so we have lots of choices for beautiful camping spots.  The one thing that we are all adamant about when we go camping is s'mores.  It is kind of a must when you are camping and my kids will never let me forget the essentials.  When I was first diagnosed, gluten free graham crackers were pretty much non-existent but now, you can find them in lots of different places.  The ones that I used in this recipe, I found in Wal-mart.  Since they are a whole lot easier to find, I thought that this recipe would be perfect for a fun and easy dessert that would have all the flavors of one of our favorite treats.

These little chocolate balls are perfect when you are looking for a sweet treat because they are just so easy to make.  There is no baking involved so they are perfect to make during those hot summer months when it is just too hot to turn on the oven. You also don't need to coat them in chocolate.  They would be great just as they are but really almost everything is better when coated in chocolate! I also love these sprinkled with a little bit of salt.  The marshmallow makes them pretty sweet so adding a bit of salt on top really cuts through the sweet and makes them taste so good.
Whenever I go to a party or to dinner at someone's house, I always offer to bring a dessert with me.  I love to bring things that you don't have to cut when I know that there are going to be gluten filled desserts as well.  It feel like it cuts down on cross contamination because no one is going to accidentally share a knife with your dessert.  It is not very fun when you go to all the trouble to make a gluten free dessert and then you aren't able to eat it when someone shares a knife.  These truffles are great because no one will be doing that and they just taste amazing.
If you love s'mores as much as I do, then this is the dessert for you.  They are quick, easy and taste so good.  Watch the video down below to see exactly how I make these and make sure to check out my YouTube channel for more great recipes and product reviews!
